Mikal Cronin: Embracing the New

The night I met Mikal Cronin at 35 Denton music festival the conditions were similar to his new city of residence — the wind was bitingly cold and a mild fog rolled in alluding to a stormy night. Much like Little D, Cronin said, San Francisco’s music scene is thriving, which is why he decided to relocate there from his hometown of Laguna Beach, California and establish his career as a solo artist.

Manifestation Celebration Announces 2012 Lineup

The four-year-old music and arts conglomerate known as Manifestation Celebration dropped some big news today, announcing Thievery Corporation, Flying Lotus and EOTO as headlining performers for the 2012 lineup. The fest welcomes back Austin’s The Nadis Warriors, New York’s D.V.S* and Austin’s Govinda, while also adding San Francisco’s Random Rab.

Bun B — “My Block” (LEGSWEEPER Cover)

My favorite up and coming music festival 35 Denton has gotten super creative this year. They’ve got a cover series going where they get local North Texas bands to recreate songs by one of the headlining artists. We saw this with a few videos announcements, namely Built to Spill and Dum Dum Girls, but this latest one is truly unique. Check out Denton’s LEGSWEEPER‘s rendition of Bun B‘s “My Block.”

35 Denton Adds More Than 110 Local, National Bands to Lineup

Up and coming North Texas music festival 35 Denton added a total 114 locally and nationally-based bands through to its four-day lineup Tuesday, including genres from all over the musical spectrum.
